The Itinerary

Centre-du-Québec, formerly Bois-Francs, has become Quebec's artisanal cheese capital in two decades. A dozen creameries — all on the Quebec Fine Cheese Route — cluster within 30 km of Victoriaville and Warwick.

Fromagerie du Presbytère in Sainte-Élizabeth-de-Warwick produces the famous Louis d'Or and Bleu d'Élizabeth, twice crowned Canada's best cheeses. Fromagerie Victoria, more family-friendly, is a classic with its boutique-restaurant and ice-cream bars. Saint-Albert, founded in 1893, makes the legendary Saint-Albert cheddar (free tour, tastings).

The loop is best paired with stops at Cidrerie Pédneault, Victoriaville's public market, and Mont Arthabaska for regional views. In fall, it's also a superb route for Appalachian colours.
