The Itinerary

Lotbinière, on the south shore of the St. Lawrence, is one of Quebec's best-documented seigneuries. Domaine Joly-De Lotbinière — a former seigneurial property — is an architectural gem surrounded by formal gardens overlooking the river.

In March and April, the region is at the heart of maple syrup production: the sugar shacks around Lotbinière and Saint-Agapit host traditional sugaring-off feasts. Warm maple water, crispy pork rinds and taffy on snow are authentic experiences.
