The Itinerary
Just 15 minutes from Old Quebec, Île d\'Orléans is a timeless pause. The only way in: the island bridge, built in 1935. In 30 km of circumference, six villages follow one another, each with its own history, artisans and flavours.
Saint-Pétronille at the entrance is the most refined. Sainte-Famille has the best-preserved heritage homes in Quebec. Saint-Jean has the only historic manor open to the public. Saint-François, at the island's tip, offers the wildest panorama of the river and the Appalachians.
The island is a gastronomic paradise: vineyards, cider houses, cheese shops, sugar shacks and summer strawberry stands line the entire perimeter.
