The Itinerary

Lanaudière is the region of festivals, lakes and fall colours within easy reach of Montreal. Less than an hour from the metropolis, it's the perfect weekend or day-trip escape.

Joliette, the regional hub, hosts the Festival de Lanaudière each summer — one of the world's great outdoor classical music festivals. Its art museum has a remarkable collection.

Further north, Rawdon surprises with the Cascades des Américains, caves and an eclectic international population. Lac Noir and Parc des Cascades are perfect for a swim or picnic.
