The Itinerary

The Véloroute des Bleuets is a legendary 256 km cycling loop around Lac-Saint-Jean. By car, the same route makes a long day-trip or — better — a leisurely weekend with stops in each village.

From Saint-Gédéon to Roberval, the south shore lines up sandy beaches (Saint-Henri-de-Taillon, Pointe-Taillon), u-pick blueberry farms and craft breweries. Mashteuiatsh, the Innu (Ilnu) community of Pekuakami, opens a window onto Indigenous culture.

The north shore via Saint-Félicien hosts the Zoo sauvage, where wolves, bears and caribou roam freely along an elevated trail. Val-Jalbert, a perfectly preserved ghost town around an old pulp mill and a 72 m waterfall, is a must-stop. Loop back via Dolbeau-Mistassini, blueberry capital.
