The Itinerary
Lake Saint-Jean is an inland sea of 1,350 km² surrounded by white sand beaches and deep forests. From Chicoutimi, Route 170 then Route 169 skirt the lake in a loop doable as a day trip or long weekend.
Valmier, Roberval, Mistassini (world blueberry capital), Alma — each town has its personality. The Véloroute des Bleuets does the full lake loop (256 km), but by car you experience it differently: wild beaches, roadside rotisseries, and the famous tourtière du Lac-Saint-Jean.
