The Itinerary

This spectacular route links La Malbaie to the Saguenay Fjord via Route 170 or the Saint-Siméon–Rivière-du-Loup ferry (which reverses the circuit entirely).

From Baie-Sainte-Catherine, a free ferry crosses the Saguenay mouth to Tadoussac. From there, Route 172 follows the fjord toward Chicoutimi through Sainte-Rose-du-Nord — a village perched above the fjord that demands a stop.

In Chicoutimi, the Old Port and craft breweries round off this journey between sea and mountain.
