The Itinerary

The Gaspésie loop is Quebec's ultimate road trip. 900 km around a peninsula that feels like its own country: mountains, fjords, sea, whales and isolated fishing villages.

On the south shore (Route 132), you follow the river as it gradually becomes the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Matane, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, the Gaspésie National Park entrance (Mont Albert, caribou) and Percé — with its famous rock and Bonaventure Island — are unmissable stops.

The return via the north shore (Baie-des-Chaleurs) passes Chandler, New Carlisle and Carleton-sur-Mer, an increasingly popular summer destination with its mountain, beach and northern vineyards.
